Vietnam is now one of the largest textile and apparel exporting countries in Asia. In 2018, Vietnam Textiles and Apparel export value ranks third largest in the world. The year also witnessed the highest growth rate since 2011 with total export value of the Textile & Apparel industry to be over US $ 36 million, an increase of more than 16% compared to 2017. In the beginning of 2019, Vietnam became the 7th country to ratify the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), which is predicted to bring enormous benefits for the development of Vietnam Textile and Apparel industry. This year, although import countries seem to continue their policy of import reduction, along with the impact of the US-China trade war, preferential policies from the Vietnam Government have still attracted a lot of investors into the textile industry.
Although the Vietnamese textile industry has some of the above advantages, its development still faces many challenges, such as rising energy prices and wages, competitive pressure on orders, port surcharges and freight charges… “What is the right strategy to grasp all advantages and overcome disadvantages? What is the latest information in the Vietnamese Textile and Apparel market that we can leverage to better and faster respond to the challenges? Etc…” is going to be the main topic for us to discuss in this Summit.
In addition, this forum will be included: the impact of the international trade environment on the development of the Vietnamese textile industry, the development of the free trade agreement of the Vietnamese textile industry, the latest dynamic information of the Vietnamese textile market and the development situation of related industries in the Vietnamese textile industry chain, in-depth interpretation of the status and influence of the Vietnamese textile industry in the global textile industry chain, at the same time, the global apparel brand's view of the Vietnamese market and whether textile and apparel manufacturers will increase investment in the Vietnamese market, will be also a highlight of the summit.
In 2018, Vietnam’s minimum wage rose by 6.5%, which means that labor costs in Vietnam will increase and the development of the textile industry will face enormous challenges. How to grasp the preferential dividends, learn the latest information in the Vietnamese textile market, and better and faster respond to the challenges of the Vietnamese textile market, which will be covered in this summit.
